Many photographs have been lost to time whether it be by wrinkles on the page, staining, sun bleaching, or, something which has become all too common, loss of resolution via poor record keeping. There are as many ways to reduce the quality of a photograph as there are photographs, or so it would seem some days.
Modern Upscaling and Remastering
With modern upscaling and remastering techniques, we are capable of increasing the fidelity of old photographs to a new standard, one that allows for printing in large format for the first time while retaining a usable and high standard of visual fidelity.
Once information has been removed from a photograph, information has to be put back in to return resolution. Though labour intensive this technique creates extremely high resolution artwork bringing old photographs and artwork to the modern day in a whole new light!
